Although all donations are appreciated, at this time we are focused solely on fundraising. Our goal is to ensure each child receives the type and size of suitcase he or she needs. Logistically, this can only be achieved by purchasing the suitcases directly.

As of January, 2010, of all donations received, approximately 92% is going toward the purchase of suitcases for foster children in Illinois. This is calculated by dividing the total amount of funds raised by the funds available to charity.

Contributions to Cases for a Cause are deductible under section 501(c)(3) of the tax code.

Many corporate employers offer matching gifts when employees donate to non-profit organizations.  Setting up the partnership between Cases for a Cause and your employer is pretty easy and it’s a win for all parties involved……for you, for your employer and for Cases for a Cause. Here’s what you need to do:

1.  Identify if your employer has such a program. 

                -Search for Matching Gift program information on your company Intranet, or contact your HR department.

2.  Many employers differ in their requested documents.  Once you have the checklist of the information required to set up this partnership, contact Cases for a Cause Treasurer Jeff Wrobel at jeff.wrobel@casesforacause.org.

3.  Jeff will help gather the necessary information and help process the matching donation paperwork.
